Electrical and Instrumentation Technician Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our maintenance team at our Yarwun manufacturing site in Gladstone, Queensland.

This 12-month contract role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a dynamic 24/7 manufacturing environment, maintaining and driving optimal maintenance plans to maximize plant efficiency and asset utilization.

You will be responsible for ensuring plant and equipment repairs, modifications, and monitoring occur within health and safety guidelines. Additionally, you will investigate, analyze, and determine root causes of electrical plant failures.

As part of our team, you will collaborate with Planners, Maintenance Technicians, Engineers, and Operations to complete and resolve both planned and unplanned maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations during plant and equipment repairs, modifications, and monitoring;
  • Investigating and analyzing electrical plant failures to determine root causes;
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams to complete and resolve maintenance activities;
  • Participating in pre-shut-down work scoping and shut-down facilitation execution;
  • Providing direction and control of breakdown work to ensure maximum output;
  • Conducting maintenance tasks within a rigid planning and clearance to work system.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Queensland Electrical License and Instrument Trade Qualification;
  • Maintenance experience in a heavy industry or continuous manufacturing environment;
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to work with engineering and operational teams;
  • High risk work license for forklift and elevated work platform (nice to have);
  • Experience in high voltage switching and safety instrumented systems (highly advantageous);
  • Sound systems and administration skills to maintain our Maintenance Management System in SAP;
  • Knowledge of maintenance methods (e.g., preventative, predictive, condition monitoring).
