This role exists for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician at our flagship Yarwun manufacturing site located in Gladstone, Queensland.

This technician will be offered as a 12-month contract.Reporting to the Superintendent - Maintenance Execution, the successful applicant will be maintaining and driving the optimal maintenance plan to maximise plant efficiency and asset utilisation with their team of professionals in maintenance.We're seeking a dedicated and team-oriented Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of our plant.
Work a consistent 4-day week, they'll play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability while navigating the dynamic demands of a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
In this role, they'll balance planned maintenance activities with the need to support continuous operations and ensure consistent customer supply.
Their technical expertise and collaborative mindset will be essential to keeping our systems running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring plant, equipment repairs, modifications and monitoring occur within health and safety guidelines;
• Investigating, analysing and determining root causes of electrical plant failures;
• Coordinating and communicating with Planners, Maintenance Technicians, Engineers and Operations to complete and resolve both planned and unplanned maintenance activities;
• Participating in pre-shut-down work scoping and shut-down facilitation execution;
• Providing direction and control of breakdown work to ensure maximum output;
• Conducting maintenance tasks within a rigid planning and clearance to work system.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• A Queensland Electrical License and Instrument Trade Qualification is required;
• Maintenance experience in a heavy industry/continuous manufacturing environment;
• Communication and coordination skills to work with engineering and operational teams;
• A high risk work license for forklift and elevated work platform would be advantageous;
• Experience in high voltage switching and safety instrumented systems would be highly advantageous;
• Sound systems and administration skills to maintain our Maintenance Management System in SAP;
• Knowledge of maintenance methods e.g. preventative, predictive, condition monitoring.
