Job Description

The COVID Variants Response Unit (CVRU) is a critical component of our organization's strategic priorities. We are seeking an exceptional Executive Officer to support the coordination of COVID event operations across all jurisdictions.

This role involves providing a direct connection to the CVRU based in National Office, as well as a key point of contact for local health authorities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of federal/state election and public health knowledge.

As an Executive Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the State Manager or Australian Electoral Officer in establishing operational relationships with relevant health agencies of the state/territory government. You will also maintain situational awareness of the COVID environment in the lead up to an electoral event.

The role requires a high level of communication influence, negotiation skills, and stakeholder management. You must be able to achieve results within prescriptive legislation and adaptive environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing internal and external relationships
  • Representing and explaining region context in various forums
  • Providing high-quality and timely advice internally and externally
