Role Overview

As a Cost Estimation Specialist at Technip Energies, your primary responsibility will be to support the tendering and project teams by developing and coordinating precise cost estimates. This will involve adhering to Technip Energies' tendering philosophy, estimating protocols, and the Client's scope of work.

Your expertise in generating high-level study estimates as well as detailed norms-based estimates will be crucial in this position.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of estimating techniques and methodologies relevant to the onshore/offshore greenfield and brownfield oil and gas sectors.
  • Ensure compliance with Technip Energies Group Procedures and Guidelines that impact the work performed.
  • Assist the tendering team in formulating commercial responses to Clients upon receiving Invitations to Tender/Requests.
  • Collaborate with the Project team to provide budgetary estimates and foundational estimate deliverables during engineering studies.
  • Develop a Database and Norms pertinent to estimating for brownfield energy projects.
  • Work alongside the procurement team to expedite all subcontract commercial bids for third-party quotations to finalize tender pricing.
  • Facilitate the acquisition of necessary Management approval for Technip Energies Tender Proposal Pricing in line with procedures prior to submission, including the preparation of Authorisation to Tender (SUBMIT) documentation.
  • Manage post-tender submission responses to Client clarifications, including attending clarification meetings as necessary and securing Management approval for any price/position changes that diverge from Group Corporate principles.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in estimating tools, particularly software packages based on databases and Microsoft Excel.

Candidate Profile

We welcome applications from individuals whose qualifications align with the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Commercial or Business, or a background in the resources and/or energy sector.
  • 3-7 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Contracts Engineer, or Estimator within the resources and/or energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of the resources and/or energy sector.
  • Knowledge of contractual and commercial regulations and procedures, preferably in Australia.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with Estimating Software is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines, often requiring additional hours.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Keen commercial insight.
