About the Role

Yourtown is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Women and Family Advocate to join our team in the Scenic Rim region. As a key member of our team, you will provide practical support and interventions to women and children as they transition from Refuge into longer-term, safe, and sustainable accommodation in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical support and interventions to increase clients' safety and wellbeing during and post-refuge
  • Work collaboratively with the refuge team through a multi-level practice framework
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and respond to identified risks and needs
  • Support women to address barriers to housing and advocate on their behalf with key stakeholders
  • Assist families to exit temporary accommodation and establish independently sustainable tenancies
Requirements
  • Diploma-level qualification in Social or Behavioural Sciences with at least 3 years' direct experience in family and youth services
  • Knowledge and skills in working with women and children who have experienced domestic and family violence
  • Demonstrated understanding of case management with assessment frameworks related to Child Protection, Parenting, and Family Work
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and report writing skills
