About the Role

The Chief Finance Officer will play a critical leadership and enabling role within the Corporate Division and across the organization, ensuring the effective financial management of all activities across the full range of functions. This includes management of the property portfolio, financial reporting, audits, taxation, procurement, financial policies and delegations, asset management, and budget planning and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner Corporate, the Chief Finance Officer will work collaboratively to deliver financial and business services to support the achievement of the organization's strategic and operational objectives.
  • Providing accurate and timely financial reporting to the Executive Leadership Group and ensuring compliance with all financial requirements and accounting standards.
  • Leading the Finance Branch to ensure compliance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013 and other Commonwealth financial and resource management frameworks.
  • Operating in a complex, diverse, and dynamic environment, expertise in financial management is essential to the activities of the organization.
  • Leading major system and change initiatives, taking a key role in improving integration of financial services and systems across the organization.
  • Supporting the introduction and embedding of contemporary business practices that meet the current and future needs of the organization.
