In this role, you will conduct site investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's mechanical aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's mechanical aspects are met.

","Key Responsibilities:
  • Plans and conducts independent mechanical work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of mechanical engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit.
  • Led the design, development, modification and evaluation of mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
  • Communicated complex technical issues and recommended solutions to upper management.
  • Developed conceptual designs for mechanical engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements.
  • Supported preparation of estimates, staffing needs and schedules.
  • Prepared or overseen the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supported implementation and assisted with performance reporting.
  • Interpreted new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data.
  • Coordinated with client representatives, as directed, to obtain their approval of mechanical aspects of the work.
  • Conducted or led special studies of new mechanical engineering methods, materials and techniques.
  • Mentored mechanical engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development.
","Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

","Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods and materials in the mechanical discipline, and of engineering work planning and control methods.
