Maintaining and Improving Our Road Reserves

As a Road Worker, you'll be an integral part of a team dedicated to ensuring the safety and efficiency of our road reserves. Your role will involve performing routine maintenance tasks, repairing and installing signs, street furniture, fences, guardrails, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily vehicle and equipment checks to ensure safe operation; report any faults.
  • Operate trucks up to 22400 GVM, including towing trailers and compressors.
  • Use ride-on rollers for compacting road-making materials.
  • Repair and install road signs, street furniture, fences, guardrails, and more.
  • Support the team in all tasks, including labouring, erection, and maintenance of roadwork signs, and operation of small plant equipment.

About You:

  • Hold a current Victorian Driver's Licence with a Heavy Rigid Truck Licence endorsement.
  • Competent in operating asphalt and concrete cutting machines, as well as smooth drum and other rollers.
  • Skilled in driving and operating vehicles up to 22400GVM safely and competently.
  • Effective communication skills, able to deal sensitively and confidentially with customers.
  • Experience in road maintenance, construction techniques, and the use of road-making materials.
  • Proficient with hand tools and small mechanical equipment associated with road maintenance and construction.
  • Current White/Red card.
