About the Role:

In our ongoing efforts to protect the natural environment, flora, fauna, and Aboriginal heritage in NSW, we are seeking a skilled Field Officer to join our team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to contribute to the conservation of some of the state's most precious natural places.

As a Field Officer, you will be responsible for a diverse range of activities, including maintenance and improvement to park assets within NPWS parks and reserves. You will work closely with senior field staff to guide your day-to-day tasks, which may involve pest and weed control, routine maintenance, construction and installation of new assets, and conservation works.

You will also operate and maintain plant and equipment, participate in fire management activities, respond to visitor enquiries, and assist with compliance activities as required. Your passion for environmental conservation, strong attention to detail, and safety awareness will be essential for success in this role.

We require applicants to possess a current Australian Class C Drivers license or equivalent and four-wheel driving certification. An MR license is necessary for progression to Grade 4. Additionally, you must demonstrate the ability and experience to carry out all duties safely and obtain relevant SafeWork NSW certification to operate various plant and equipment. Certification in operating a chainsaw to crosscut and basic tree felling standard, as well as proficiency in two-way radio operation, is also required.

This is a physically active role suited to candidates who are fit, enjoy working outdoors, and are eager to learn and develop the skills and qualifications needed to contribute toward improving and maintaining our natural environment.

Key Requirements:
