Racing Data Specialist

This position involves analyzing data from international horse racing, harness racing, and greyhound racing to provide accurate and insightful predictions, strategies, and reports that aid in decision-making processes for betting, racing strategies, and horse selection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct race form analysis (Thoroughbreds, Harness, Greyhounds) for clients and create analytical content.
  • Attend New Zealand race meetings throughout the year, including track-work and barrier trials.
  • Analyze data related to horse performances, track conditions, jockey statistics, trainer patterns, and other relevant factors.
  • Monitor performance trends and anomalies across horses, greyhounds, jockeys, drivers, and trainers to inform the production of different comment sets.
  • Provide race previews for international thoroughbred meetings.
  • Produce news content for a leading website.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and analyze data sets.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in predictions and reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present analysis and recommendations.
  • Deep understanding of the racing industry, including knowledge of form, betting markets, and race dynamics.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems related to race analysis and prediction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships.
