Job Summary

The Head Boys Basketball Coach will be responsible for leading the Midwest High School boys basketball team to success. This includes scheduling practices and games, coordinating with the Assistant Principal/Athletic Director (AD), and ensuring the team's safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basketball, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule practices and games in accordance with the Natrona County School District (NCSD) calendar and regulations.
  • Coordinate with the AD to ensure the team's schedules and activities align with district policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the team's safety and well-being by implementing safety protocols and procedures, and reporting any incidents or concerns to the AD or school administration.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive game plan and strategy to ensure the team's success.
  • Maintain accurate records of player attendance, progress, and achievements.
  • Attend meetings and participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid coaching certification from a recognized organization.
  • Experience in coaching basketball at the high school level.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with colleagues and community members.
  • Knowledge of NCSD policies and procedures related to student safety, discipline, and conduct.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in education or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Knowledge of sports management software and other technology tools to support team operations.

  • Knowledge of NCSD policies and procedures related to student safety and conduct.
