Accounting Support Assistant

This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the beginning of their accounting career to provide part-time accounting support. You will work closely with our finance team and liaise regularly with external authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process daily receipting transactions, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial information.
  • Reconcile credit card transactions and manage petty cash effectively.
  • Perform daily banking duties, including attending banks or external bodies as required.
  • Assist in accounts payable invoice processing, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Accounts Receivable Coordinator and Trust Officer, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
  • Reconcile assigned General Ledger accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Complete other ad-hoc tasks as required, showcasing a proactive and results-driven approach.

Requirements:

  • Entry-level accounting experience (up to 3 years), with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets.
  • Tertiary qualification in finance or working towards desirable, with a solid foundation in accounting theory and practice.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, written, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team, with a high level of self-motivation and discipline.
