Key Role in Software Development:

We are a global leader in software development for public services, dedicated to delivering critical services worldwide.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will influence business and technology decisions across multiple teams, shaping technical standards and solving complex problems at scale.

You will be part of the APAC Technology Leadership Team, working alongside Engineering Leaders to define engineering culture and strategy, drive innovation, and provide technical leadership across 24 engineering teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and review high-quality code that solves complex problems at scale.
  • Influence the technical direction for our product portfolio.
  • Promote coding best practices and inspire engineers to deliver the product vision.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and guide conversations to remove blockers.
  • Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies that can add value to our Engineering teams and product portfolio.
  • Lead technical discussions to drive better outcomes and build relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Support hiring efforts and provide mentoring and technical leadership to Staff Engineers.
  • Work as part of our global principals community of practice.

Requirements:

  • Extensive expertise in designing scalable software systems.
  • Ability to assess code structure and define good practices.
  • Strong understanding of architectural trade-offs, balancing scalability, maintainability, performance, and business needs.
  • Proficiency in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, performance tuning, and core computer science principles.
  • Strong security mindset, understanding of secure coding best practices.
  • Experience migrating legacy applications to modern architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive engineering roadmaps.
  • Proven track record as a problem-solver who challenges assumptions and drives better technical solutions.
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience in open source projects and initiatives.
  • Exposure to compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements in software development.
  • Proven track record of technically leading high-performing engineering teams.
