Advanced Practitioner of Anaesthesia

The Anaesthetist will provide comprehensive anaesthetic services, supporting surgical and critical care across four operating theatres. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering anaesthesia for various procedures in Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Dental Surgery, Urology, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- Providing anaesthesia for ASA 1–5 patients, managing perioperative airway, ventilation, and acute pain services.
- Contributing to perioperative assessments, patient optimisation, and procedural planning with Surgical and Emergency Department teams.
- Engaging in on-call duties and responding to trauma and emergency airway needs as required.
Armidale Rural Referral Hospital provides level 4 service with a supportive multidisciplinary team, offering a rural lifestyle and opportunities for professional development.
This role requires collaboration within an interdisciplinary framework, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a changing health system.
- Adequate medical expertise with recent anaesthesia experience is necessary.
- Strong commitment to scholarship, professional development, and assisting trainees is expected.
