  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate civil engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of civil components and processes, utilizing relevant engineering procedures, design standards, and guides.Review and approve key engineering drawings, calculations, and bid summaries.Design structures using advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles, including hydrology, hydraulics, road design, pavement design, geotechnical, and earthworks.Determine the appropriate use of various civil elements, such as earthworks, pavement, rock, concrete, etc., to ensure materials are used based on project requirements.Originate and check complex civil engineering deliverables, such as calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.Coordinate and interface with personnel, communicating complex technical issues and recommending solutions to upper management.Develop conceptual designs for civil engineering projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements.Support preparation of estimates, staffing needs, and schedules.Prepare or oversee preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.Coordinate with client representatives to obtain approval of civil aspects of the work.Conduct or lead special studies of new civil engineering methods, materials, and techniques.Mentor civil engineering personnel, providing on-the-job training for professional development.Education and Experience Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
  • Recent supervisory experience during study and detail design phases of projects.
