Job Description

In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of mechanical equipment at our water and sewage networks. As a Mechanical Fitter, your primary objective is to identify and rectify any issues that may arise during maintenance tasks or respond to reactive maintenance requests in accordance with established priorities, deadlines, and operational constraints.

Main Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to guarantee maximum equipment efficiency.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks based on task priority, deadline, and process operation requirements.
  • Coordinate task completion within available team resources, operational limitations, and system availability.
  • Participate in an emergency on-call roster to provide 24/7 breakdown and maintenance services.
Requirements
  • A recognised Tradesman's Certificate in Mechanical Fitting/Turning is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience working with pumps, valves, gearboxes, and other process industry equipment is necessary.
  • An ACT Class C Driver's Licence or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in machining and welding techniques is highly desirable.
