The role of a Classroom Teacher is pivotal in supporting the school to enhance student performance and educational outcomes, as outlined in the school's strategic plan and state-wide priorities.

About the Role
  • This position plays a critical part in contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum areas or other programs within the school.
  • Direct teaching of groups and individual students, policy development, project teams, and co-curricula activities may be included in this role.

The primary focus of this role is on planning, preparation, and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Critical reflection and inquiry are essential skills for effective engagement with students and improving their learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant curricula, including incorporation of literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience in responding to student learning needs.
  • Planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student growth.
  • Monitoring and assessing student learning.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values.

In order to succeed in this position, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as demonstrated knowledge of relevant curricula and experience in responding to student learning needs.
