About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment leader to join our team in the Northern region. As a key member of our organization, you will report to the Regional GM of Safety and be responsible for leading the transformation of our Health, Safety and Environment management culture. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing a safety mindset and building organizational capability across all levels of the company.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Safety Management System, providing coaching and mentorship to site managers and conducting audits to ensure compliance.
- Oversee site-specific safety plans, ensuring that all required managers and supervisors are aware of site plan requirements.
- Conduct periodic system verification audits to assess and verify the effectiveness of safety systems.
- Lead the end-to-end process for incident management, from reporting to root cause investigation and implementation of corrective actions.
- Build capability in Health, Safety and Environment through continuous training and learning across the region.
- Manage workers compensation claims and contribute to strategic safety initiatives.
We are looking for an experienced health, safety and environmental leader with a minimum of 8 years of work experience in a manufacturing industry or similar. You will have a relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline. Your knowledge and experience with Queensland Environment Authorities (EA) and Environment Relevant Activities (ERA) will be essential in this role. You will also possess in-depth knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
