Key Role in Project Team

This position plays a critical part in our project team, responsible for independently managing drafting on large projects and guiding junior drafters. You will also be involved in coordinating with engineers and architects to prepare and coordinate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage small and large projects where no Lead Engineer is allocated
  • Coordinate with engineers and architects on the preparation and coordination of documentation
  • Effectively communicate structural information into drawing format which can be interpreted by builders
  • Support Lead Engineer in the preparation of preliminary sketch designs from architectural drawings as required
  • Provide training and assistance to junior drafters including technical support of Civil 3D and other software
  • Contribute ideas to the progressive improvement of the drafting systems
  • Communicate relevant project information as appropriate to the project leaders/project team

About You:

  • You have a relevant TAFE qualification or equivalent
  • You have at least 8-10 years of experience in a similar role
  • You are a collaborative team player who works seamlessly with all levels of staff
  • You have a strong understanding of Austroads, BCA and relevant Australian Standards
  • You are able to co-ordinate existing & proposed utilities
  • You have the ability to interrogate information & data prior to commencing drafting with a keen eye for design parameters
  • You are proficient in the use of Civil 3D for drafting major projects utilising a National Systemised framework for all aspects of the drawing set
  • You have experience in delivering large civil projects and leading a project documentation team
  • You have highly desirable skills in documenting roads, drainage and civil infrastructure utilising digital framework
  • You possess professional level written and verbal communication skills
  • You have problem solving/analytical skills with a great attention to detail
