Your Opportunity:
- We seek a skilled Speech Therapist to provide dysphagia and communication assessment and intervention for adults living in residential aged care and the community.
- This is an open opportunity for recent graduates and experienced clinicians alike.
As a Speech Therapist, you will provide high-quality services to adults living in residential aged care facilities and the local community. Our clients may be living with dementia, Parkinson's disease, post-stroke, progressive neurological disorders, or ageing-related decline.
You will have access to extensive resources, including internal clinical supervision and opportunities to attend workshops and professional development programs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your calendar of appointments, with flexibility to choose work hours and locations that suit you
- Assessing and diagnosing clients' swallowing and communication difficulties
- Providing telehealth-based dysphagia and/or communication assessment and intervention
- Liaising with our national team of Speech Therapists
- Advocating for support for clients with communication difficulties
- Working closely with organisational staff, support coordinators, and colleagues to ensure optimum care needs are met
- Providing consultative and educational support to clients, their families, and colleagues
- Dysphagia and communication assessment and intervention
