The Role

We are seeking a skilled Operational Fitter to join our team at Visy. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supporting the operation of our busy plant, working a rostered shift schedule.

Roster Details

  • Week 1: 4 nights on, 3 days off
  • Week 2: 3 days on, one day off, 3 nights on
  • Week 3: 3 days off, 4 days on
  • Week 4: off

Key Responsibilities

  • Be proactive in responding to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
  • Perform routine checks and planned maintenance to ensure optimal machine productivity
  • Assist in fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs of machinery
  • Manage spare parts inventory to facilitate component production for repairs
  • Update and maintain accurate records of work completed
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to Environmental, Health, and Safety

Requirements

  • Hold a Mechanical Trade certificate
  • Post-trade qualifications in hydraulics and pneumatics are desirable
  • Prior experience in the packaging industry is beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Familiarity with automation of high-speed packaging machines
  • Welding and Machining skills are preferred
  • Forklift License
