Exciting Opportunity for a Regional Faults Response and Maintenance Technician

ATCO Gas Australia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Regional Faults Response and Maintenance Technician based in Bunbury/Busselton. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who live locally and are tired of FIFO and remote site work.

This is a varied and fulfilling role responsible for undertaking various activities associated with the gas distribution network. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • SUPPORTING FAULTS AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE ACTIVITIES; RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL METER CHANGES, INSPECTIONS; AND LEAK DETECTION, INCLUDING MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATED WITH THE GAS DISTRIBUTION NETWORK.
  • UNDERTAKING MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE GAS DISTRIBUTION NETWORK IN LINE WITH ATCO GAS AUSTRALIA'S ASSET MANAGEMENT PLAN AND RELEVANT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
  • OPERATING INDEPENDENTLY OR AS PART OF A SMALL TEAM.
  • LIAISING WITH CUSTOMERS AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO ENSURE THAT ANY DISRUPTION TO SUPPLY OR ANY WORK THAT IMPACTS CUSTOMERS ARE FULLY COMMUNICATED AND, WHERE POSSIBLE, MINIMISED.
  • PARTICIPATING IN THE 24/7 ON CALL ROSTER AT NOMINATED INTERVALS THROUGHOUT THE BUSINESS CYCLE.
  • OPERATING MACHINERY, EQUIPMENT, AND TOOLS IN ACCORDANCE WITH RELEVANT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
  • ENSURING ALL ACTIVITIES AND ASSOCIATED ASSETS ARE RECORDED AGAINST CORRECT COST CENTRES TO ENABLE THE ACCURATE COSTING OF ALL MAINTENANCE WORKS AND ACTIVITIES.
  • UNDERTAKING INSPECTIONS OF GAS DISTRIBUTION ASSETS AND RECORDS AND REPORTS ANY INTEGRITY, PERFORMANCE, AND FUNCTIONALITY ISSUES IN ACCORDANCE WITH COMPANY PROCEDURES.
What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold an Energy Safety Class G Gasfitting Licence, have good interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to work effectively with members of the general public, our contractors, and our community. Additionally, you will need to possess a Certificate III in Gas Industry Operations (or training can be provided), a Western Australia Construction White Card / Blue Card, and a current C class drivers licence (Medium Rigid (MR) Class Drivers Licence Desirable). Certification in Excavator Operation and Basic Worksite Traffic Management would be an asset.
