About the Role:

The Apex Group is seeking a seasoned finance professional to take on a leadership role in our Sydney office. As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective running of the finance function for one or more legal entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Regional Head of Finance-Asia, you will manage and control all aspects of the financial functions.
  • Coordinate and perform month-end closing, resolving issues timely to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare various management accounts and analysis reports, submitting them to the financial controller and management in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for accounting operations of the business.
  • Maintain detailed workings of intercompany transactions and reconcile them monthly with counterparts.
  • Deliver an effective and efficient service, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Work with External Auditors as required.
  • Participate in ad-hoc assignments or other projects.

Requirements:

  • CFA, CPA, Chartered Accountant qualifications.
  • A minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Experience with in-house systems such as Financial Force, Prophix, Workday (training available if required).
  • Good analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent standard of oral and written communication skills, with the ability to conduct presentations to external professional audiences and internal staff.
  • The proven ability to deal appropriately with clients and senior management within the Company.
  • A high level of numeracy in understanding and interpreting financial information from the business.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
