Virtual Care Clinician

We are seeking experienced healthcare professionals to join our multidisciplinary team as Virtual Care Clinicians.

In this role, you will perform secondary triage after the initial 000 call has been completed and where appropriate refer patients to established healthcare pathways.

You will work closely with clinical leaders, medical consultants and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe effective and efficient virtual care to patients across NSW.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A minimum of 5 years full-time acute care experience.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person-centred care.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to consult negotiate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people.

You will also be required to work a proportion of day afternoon and night shifts in the VCCC to support the 24/7 nature of 000 operations. We offer full-time or part-time appointments to enable you to maintain your face-to-face clinical practice.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Virtual Care Clinician your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing secondary triage after the initial 000 call has been completed.
  • Referring patients to established healthcare pathways where appropriate.
  • Escalating care and/or notifying return of the incident to the appropriate Control Centre for dispatch of NSW Ambulance resources.
