The Clinical Coding Specialist will be responsible for auditing, training, and educating coding staff to ensure accurate and comprehensive casemix profiles.
This role involves working collaboratively with healthcare teams, including clinicians, to improve documentation. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing coding/documentation audit tools, conducting random and targeted coding audits, and providing education and feedback to coders.
The successful candidate will have expertise in coding software and standards, as well as experience in data analysis and interpretation.
About the Role:
- Developing and participating in the design of coding/documentation audit tools
- Conducting regular random and targeted coding audits, reporting results to management, and providing feedback to coders
- Ensuring the Coding Service meets all relevant Accreditation requirements
- Establishing and implementing benchmarks for coding accuracy and monitoring performance against predetermined criteria
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit coding data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Develop and implement coding documentation audit tools
- Conduct targeted coding audits to identify areas for improvement
- Provide education and training to coding staff
