**Job Title:** Support Mentor
The Role of a Support Mentor is to assist individuals with disabilities in community settings, helping them achieve their goals of community inclusion and participation.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, understanding of the principles of Duty of Care and Dignity of Risk, and ability to work effectively as part of a team. They must also be able to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with clients, families, and carers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain appropriate physical and emotional support to the client at all times
- Assist the client with their personal and health care needs (including mobility)
- Mentor with business growth and promotion
- Mentor with hand hygiene and food safety skills
- Perform tasks and functions in line with standards, codes, and organisational policies and procedures to support and reflect good practice
- Act as a positive role model for the clients by maintaining high standard of personal appearance, professional image, and social behaviour
- Demonstrate behaviours that support organisational values and a positive workplace culture
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to support people with disabilities in community settings
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving
- Understanding of the principles of Duty of Care and Dignity of Risk in relation to supporting people with disabilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a community setting and to work productively with limited supervision
- Ability to follow instructions and work within established guidelines
- Ability to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with clients, families, and carers
