About the Opportunity

As a Data Engineer, you'll be instrumental in transforming data and analytics capabilities. You'll play a pivotal role in delivering immediate enhancements and long-term strategic solutions that impact business transformation and customer experience outcomes.

This role is open to applicants based in either Hobart or Launceston.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Consultation: Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Solution & Data Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and architectures, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Data Analytics: Support data analysis initiatives, providing clean, reliable data for reporting and insights.
  • Data Governance: Advocate for and implement best practices in data governance, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with various teams, communicating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance our data platforms and processes, contributing to a culture of ongoing innovation.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong expertise in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and data warehouses.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake for cloud data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in data integration and ETL/ELT tools, with specific experience using Matillion highly regarded.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools, particularly Power BI.
  • A solid understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a curious mindset, always seeking innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • A passion for continuous learning and improvement in the data landscape.
