Position Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to enhance our Water Utilities division. This role involves applying mechanical engineering knowledge to vital water infrastructure initiatives. If you are dedicated to developing solutions that positively influence communities, this position is tailored for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Support project management and design oversight for water and wastewater infrastructure initiatives, engaging throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation and Proposals: Aid in creating precise, high-quality technical documents and compelling project proposals.
- Project Management: Oversee designs across various projects or program work packages.
- Collaboration: Partner with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to surpass expectations.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate is a Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in water sector projects, including pump stations, pipelines, hydraulics, or treatment facilities. We also welcome applications from those with mechanical engineering backgrounds in the Oil & Gas or Mining sectors who are interested in transitioning to the Water sector.
You thrive in a collaborative environment and engage effectively with clients to deliver mechanical engineering solutions that align with their needs. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a curiosity for innovative problem-solving, are essential.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Eligible for or pursuing CPEng certification.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
- Experience in engineering consultancy or design roles, with a preference for water industry exposure.
- Technical expertise in water and wastewater conveyance and treatment.
- Experience in hydraulic design, pump stations, and equipment selection.
- Familiarity with stress analysis and relevant software tools.
- Strong communication skills for technical documentation and client interactions.
