Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Assurance Specialist to join our Technology and Information Management Team at Comcare. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in delivering ICT outcomes specifically within the fields of Cyber Security Operations while supporting the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactive Monitoring, detecting, analysing, and responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities
  • Providing assurance to Comcare that its information assets are appropriately protected
  • Delivering effective and highly competent support for the establishment, management, review and administration of Comcare's ICT
  • Advising stakeholders on cyber security matters and Identification of cybersecurity risks
  • Supporting and managing the APS5 within the unit and supervising their day-to-day work
Requirements
  • Strong technical understanding of information security principles, protocols, and technologies
  • Broad understanding of firewalls, proxies, and network topology management
  • Experience with security tools such as SIEM|XDR, DLP, SSE, CASB, EDR and Vulnerability Management
  • Tertiary qualification and/or experience in Cyber Security or relevant appropriate discipline
  • Knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security manual and the Protective Security Policy Framework
Eligibility and Conditions
  1. Australian citizenship
  2. Character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check)
  3. Employee Health Declaration
  4. Six months probationary period for new engagements
  5. Ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance
  6. Some interstate travel may be required, including overnight absences

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $120,000 AUD, based on national averages for similar roles in Australia.
