Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in the Australian market. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned financial markets lawyer with experience covering Derivatives, FICC and/or Swaps products.

The successful candidate will provide commercial legal advice on structuring complex financial products, analyze company obligations, and work on regulatory and legal matters across various areas including financial services, corporate, commercial, competition, technology, intellectual property, information security, privacy, and marketing.

  • Provide commercial legal advice on structuring complex financial products
  • Legal analysis of company obligations
  • Work on regulatory and legal matters across various areas
  • Respond to regulatory queries as required
  • Provide regular reports on regulatory activities and escalate material issues as needed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 8-12yrs+ PQE financial markets lawyer with experience covering Derivatives, FICC and/or Swaps products
  • Experience operating at a senior level in financial markets from either an in-house, private practice or regulatory context
  • Understanding of legal, operational, compliance and regulatory issues arising in financial markets
  • Experience dealing with regulators, lawyers, and market participants, demonstrating ability to leverage personal and professional networks
  • Experience implementing corporate governance and compliance practices
  • Strong integrity, disciplined work ethic, and self-starter attitude
