About the Role

The Clinical Mental Health Specialist will play a key role in delivering short- to medium-term, evidence-based interventions and conducting group work, comprehensive assessments, and care plans for individuals aged 18 years and over.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of clinical mental health assessment and evidence-based interventions, as well as excellent judgment and evaluation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality clinical services to clients, including individual and group therapy sessions, comprehensive assessments, and care planning.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical programs and services.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.

Requirements

  • Mental health-related degree (e.g. psychology, social work, counselling) and related registration along with a minimum of 2 years' experience in the relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the provision of clinical mental health assessment and evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent judgment and evaluation skills, demonstrating a working understanding of assessment and care planning.
  • Sound understanding of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs, and associated non-mental health programs in a community setting.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and ability to maintain clinical records.
  • Proven understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Positive, solution-focused attitude with commitment to positively participate in service improvement activities and personal clinical growth.
  • Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
