As part of our New Business and Enterprise Risk Department, we are seeking an enthusiastic Lawyer for an alternative legal career path as a Conflicts Solicitor on a 12-month fixed term contract, based in our Sydney office.
This role will allow you to use your legal skill set in a strategic, commercial setting, providing you with a unique insight into the firm's global clients and sectors.
The Conflicts Team is responsible for managing conflicts of interest and information barriers globally, playing a key role in the development and shaping of firm strategy worldwide.

Apart from full training, no previous conflicts experience is required for this role.
Your key responsibilities will include:

- reviewing, drafting, and advising on conflict provisions in firm engagement letters, firm policies and other client agreements including panel arrangements.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- to be admitted to practice as a Solicitor (in any area of law) in Australia or another jurisdiction in which HSF operates;
- 2-4 years' post admission experience with excellent research, technical and analytical skills;
- a proactive approach with the ability to adapt to competing demands in a fast-paced environment;
- a desire to work outside of traditional private practice in an alternative legal career;
- excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team;
- good commercial awareness.

The estimated annual salary for this position in Sydney is around $110,000 - $140,000 AUD, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
About You
This role is suitable for someone who thrives in a busy and challenging environment, with a proven ability to critically analyse information and work through complex technical challenges. As a member of the Conflicts Team, you will spend considerable time working with Partners and/or Senior Management, so effective communication skills are essential.
