Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist legal advice to support the performance of our functions, including the provision of high-quality written and oral submissions.
  • Manage disciplinary referrals, review of suspension proceedings, appeals, and external reviews before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).
  • Provide legal advice and support to senior management, the Director, and the Board.
  • Review and provide recommendations on legal matters related to the Suitability to Teach Committee, the Professional Capacity and Teacher Conduct Committee, and the Internal Review Committee.

Requirements:

  • Highly developed legal knowledge and skills, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
