Are you a skilled Clinical Nurse Educator seeking a leadership opportunity in a dynamic perioperative unit? About the role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team on a part-time basis. You will play a key role in ensuring high levels of patient care and contribute to the development of our nursing staff. Your responsibilities will include identifying educational needs, developing learning plans, new staff orientation, maintaining staff competencies, and regular implementation of in-service training.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Nursing Leaders and Clinical Support Functions to identify educational needs.
  • Develop and implement learning plans tailored to the needs of our nursing staff.
  • Provide new staff orientation and conduct skills assessments and training sessions.
  • Maintain staff competencies through ongoing evaluation and development.
  • Implement regular in-service training to ensure our staff remains up-to-date with the latest best practices.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator - ideal but not essential.
  • Clinical facilitation and mentorship experience - desirable.
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent qualification.
  • Current Registration with AHPRA (no restrictions).
  • Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE). 
  • Working with Children check (if relevant).
  • Thorough knowledge of ACORN standards and current legislation specific to the perioperative environment.
  • Compliance with national safety standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with eLearning platforms.
  • Knowledge of adult learning practices and contemporary education methods.
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively within a high-performing team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated, and customer-focused.
