About Our Urban Biodiversity Initiative:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate professional to lead our urban biodiversity projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of land management, ecology, and conservation principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- We are looking for someone with the ability to develop and implement innovative programs that enhance urban biodiversity and compliance with environmental policies.
- The successful candidate will work closely with councilors, contractors, and community groups to provide expert insights on conservation and biodiversity practices.
- They will be responsible for managing capital works projects, including budgeting, community consultation, and construction supervision.
- Coordinate Glen Eira's environmental volunteers and friends' group activities within Council's Park Services and open spaces.
Requirements:
- A relevant degree in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent field.
- Demonstrated experience working in natural resource management and urban biodiversity initiatives is essential.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and maintaining public landscapes, as well as plant identification skills.
- Knowledge of ecological systems and habitat recreation is also required.
- A current Victorian Driver's License is necessary for the role.
