Job Overview:

As a senior liability underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing and managing complex liability risks in our Queensland market. You will leverage your expertise in general insurance underwriting principles and techniques to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Underwrite liability insurance risks in accordance with established guidelines and standards
  • Collaborate with account management and business development teams to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and support their professional development
  • Contribute to the management of the liability portfolio through risk analysis, credit management, and documentation issuance
  • Nurture relationships with customers, agents, and brokers to identify new business opportunities
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in general liability underwriting, insurance risk management, or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of insurance regulations, risk analysis, and selection
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating general insurance risks and determining coverage terms
  • Problem-solving abilities to address complex underwriting scenarios and negotiate terms with stakeholders
  • Customer-centric approach to understanding client needs and providing responsive service
  • Demonstrated experience in pricing, portfolio management, and intermediary account management
  • Relevant insurance qualification or certification (e.g., ANZIIF Cert IV)
