Expert Pathologist

The Royal Hobart Hospital seeks a qualified Staff Specialist to fill the position of Pathology/Haematology Expert.
This role involves conducting diagnostic review meetings, participating in academic activities, and providing consultation services in General Haematology, Transfusion, and other subspecialties.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in laboratory work within diagnostic Haematology services of the Royal Hobart Hospital.
- Conduct diagnostic review meetings and participate in academic activities.
- Provide consultation services in General Haematology, Transfusion, and Coagulation.
- Represent the specialty on hospital and statewide committees.
- Provide coordination services for haemophilia and coagulation disorders management in Tasmania.
- Provide undergraduate teaching to University of Tasmania School of Medicine students.
- Supervise and train postgraduate specialist trainees.
- Deliver workplace teaching to Pathology staff.
- Offer postgraduate teaching to other hospital groups.
- Regular participation in quality meetings and improvement activities.
- Maintain research involvement and supervise research students.
- Monitor laboratory operations focusing on patient-centred care.
