Community Education Role

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally knowledgeable professional to support our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families.

In this important role, you will provide educational counselling and support services to ensure the best possible outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, students, families, and communities.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Pastoral care: build positive relationships with students and their families
  • Enhance student wellbeing by providing a link between home and school
  • Organise and conduct cultural programs to facilitate the growth of a positive cultural identity
  • Integrate a positive cultural identity into a multicultural society
  • Support extra-curricular and co-curricular activities for students, parents, and families
  • Resolve issues and concerns in collaboration with parents, students, and teachers
  • Assist students in transitioning from school to further education or employment
About the Role:

This is a dynamic co-educational environment offering a broad and inclusive curriculum from Years 7 to 12. Our programs include marine studies, ICT, agricultural science, vocational education, traineeships, apprenticeships, and first-year university subjects through the University of Southern Queensland.
