Nurse Unit Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Nurse Management team as a Nurse Unit Manager for our Mental Health Unit at Sydney Southwest Private Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Provide operational direction and leadership to the ward/unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area.
- Coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based and aligned with the hospital's strategic direction.
- Manage human, financial, and material resources to ensure optimal customer service levels.
- Undertake direct patient care as required and provide guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.
Sydney Southwest Private Hospital is a 98-bed acute surgical hospital that serves the needs of the local community. We are part of Healthscope, a publicly listed health service company that includes hospitals, pathology, radiology, and medical clinics across Australia.
Selection Criteria- Current Registration with AHPRA.
- Working with Children check (if relevant).
- Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.
- Experience in the Acute setting.
- Degree in relevant specialty area or working towards.
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role.
- A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.
- High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various databases.
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
- Proven time management and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labor management.
- Demonstrated HR management experience.
