Support Teacher for Kindergarten Classroom
DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Support Teacher to join our kindergarten classroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline, focusing on play-based, inclusive, child-centred learning aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
The role involves assisting teachers in planning, resourcing, and facilitating learning using PlayMyWay resources. You will interact with children to promote holistic development: identity, connectedness, wellbeing, active learning, communication, and smooth transitions. This includes preparing and managing learning materials, supervising small-group activities, and supporting administrative tasks such as photocopying, roll-taking, and resource organization.
You will also support positive behaviour management and create inclusive classroom environments. Additionally, you will engage respectfully with families and the community, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to Education Queensland policies.
Requirements- Formal qualifications in education support (e.g., Certificate III or IV in Education Support), or current enrollment in a Bachelor of Early Childhood, with recent Kindergarten classroom experience.
- Understanding and experience in planning, observing, and reporting using the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline.
- A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, adaptability, and a growth mindset.
- Respect for individual learning needs, community engagement, and fostering child-centred partnerships.
