About the Role

The role reports to the Field Education Coordinator. Primary responsibilities include:

  • To provide general oversight of the field education placement.
  • To consult with the Field Education Coordinator and student/s about placement structure, learning goals and assessment processes.
  • To provide support for students undertaking field education components of study which evaluates students' ability to integrate theory to practice, critically reflect, understand and respond to diverse needs and situations, and to practice creatively.
Qualifications and Professional Standing

Please note the following essential qualifications and professional standing:

  • Eligible for full membership of the AASW.
  • A minimum five years full-time post-qualifying practice experience.
  • Clinical or practical supervision experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We require applicants who possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • An understanding of current and emerging trends in Social Work and training.
  • Willingness to travel to placement sites mid-term and end of term to conduct placement meetings.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues from diverse cultural, religious, gender and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • A keen awareness of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities in various contexts, and support student learning and engagement with these diverse populations.
  • Technological literacy and experience in developing online communication tools is desirable.
  • Evidence of a capacity to contribute to effective administration.
