About the Role
We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join our team at headspace Upper Coomera. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide high-quality medical care to young people aged 12-25 years old in the mental health space.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical input to young people's treatment plans, working closely with our clinical team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Build a caseload of clients, with support from our on-site clinical team and access to a community of GPs in the headspace network.
- Work autonomously, with flexibility around hours and days, to manage your own schedule and provide appointments between Monday to Friday.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including conferences, accredited training, and internal workshops.
- Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in youth mental health.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine (or equivalent) with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA) registration.
- Experience working with young people aged 12-25 years old in mental health care, with a passion for helping your community.
- Knowledge and experience working with a range of presentations within the mild to moderate spectrum, including stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, alcohol and drug use, and family discord.
- Sensitivity, respect, and experience working with culturally diverse communities, including the LGBTIQAP+ community, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and those who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
- Experience performing health checks and having a Medicare provider number to bill under the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS).
- ABN and professional indemnity insurance.
