About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Female Registered Nurse with expertise in mental health trauma-informed care and PTSD to join our team at Right at Home. As a Mental Health Nurse, you will provide individualised support to clients in their homes, delivering care that is sensitive to their unique needs and experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed mental health support to clients in their homes.
- Implement personalised care plans focused on managing symptoms of PTSD and other mental health conditions.
- Monitor and record ongoing evaluations of clients' mental health and well-being.
- Follow all recommendations as a part of a behaviour support plan.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and effective care.
- Participate in education about mental health, coping strategies, and self-care practices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of care provided and progress made.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to mental health care and community support.
Requirements:
- A valid Registered Nurse qualification and current AHPRA registration.
- Proven experience in mental health support (required), with a focus on trauma-informed care and PTSD (preferred).
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions and an ability to implement de-escalation interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a home care setting.
- A compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Current National Police Check.
- A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license for travel within the Gold Coast South and Tweed Heads areas.
