Backend Software Engineer - Technical Excellence

This is an opportunity for a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our technical team and contribute to the development of a leading mining software product. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in technical domains, promote the latest software development practices and tools, and be part of a scrum team delivering software that meets technical and business requirements.

The role involves working on a long-term project that will move a large Java monolith to a Microservices architecture. You will create code that is clear, concise, tested, easily understood by others, and sets a high bar of coding excellence. Additionally, you will deliver software within a scrum team, ensure alignment to the technical strategy, write, maintain, and interpret technical documentation, design and deliver high-end solutions to complex problems, review code and provide constructive feedback, and identify and implement technical improvements.

  • Create clear, concise, and well-tested code that sets a high standard for coding excellence.
  • Deliver software within a scrum team that meets technical and business requirements while ensuring alignment to the technical strategy.
  • Develop, maintain, and interpret technical documentation, and design and deliver high-end solutions to complex problems.
  • Thoughtfully review code and provide constructive feedback to improve overall quality.
  • Identify and implement technical improvements to enhance software quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to effectively communicate and address feedback.
  • Resolve bugs with minimal guidance and prioritize unowned work to drive team efficiency.
