Senior Tax Accountant Role

A boutique practice in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join their team on a part-time basis. This dynamic and autonomous role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a practice that values integrity, technical excellence, and long-term client relationships.

This position requires the successful candidate to take ownership of the tax division, preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs). The ideal candidate will have expertise in tax compliance and business advisory services, with the ability to liaise directly with government bodies such as the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing tax workflows, supporting junior staff, and reporting to the Managing Director. To succeed in this role, the candidate must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

To be considered for this position, applicants should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar public practice accounting role. A Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) qualification is highly desirable, along with hands-on experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero and MYOB.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar public practice accounting role
  • CPA, CA or CTA qualification, with hands-on experience using Xero and MYOB
