Job Title: Transport Strategy Manager

This role involves leading the development and implementation of innovative transport solutions to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and introduce new strategic initiatives for ground transport, including fleet management and automation.
  • Design and deliver transport solutions through evaluation and introduction of suitable handling mediums (MHU/MHE) in cross docks and relevant automation.
  • Maintain working relationships and collaboration with industry vendors for property or automation technology.
  • Redesign existing operations and transport processes considering network impact.
  • Coordinate effective assessment of solution concept efficiency, undertake simulation studies on capacity profiles and productivities, along with incremental investments.
  • Provide expertise in cost modelling and analysis of business for pricing determination and business improvement analysis.
  • Deliver an ANZ innovation pipeline through assessment of both existing and new network initiatives.
  • Recommend changes to present and future innovations through operation's requirement reviews and appraisal of new innovation/automation ideas.
  • Develop business case and ROI analysis for proposed innovations using standard costing and engineering tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including modelling skills and sound analytical capability.
  • Strong knowledge of automation, material handling equipment, trailer configurations, and software platforms.
  • Detailed knowledge of transport process and operations, network flow design and optimisation, and solutions engineering.
  • Sound communication, planning, and prioritisation skills, and presentation skills to executive level.
  • Bonus: transport software systems knowledge.
