About The Team

We provide integrated offerings of market intelligence and forecasting. Energy transition relies on mineral-intensive processes, requiring dynamic understanding of thermal and metallurgical coal, iron ore, scrap, steel and base metals markets, globally and in key regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Track supply and demand fundamentals of the seaborne metallurgical coal and coke market.
  • Report on metallurgical coal prices daily and weekly, informing key indexes.
  • Develop a keen understanding of drivers of pricing, including S&D, supply chain and derivatives market.
  • Report breaking market news and in-depth analytical pieces on big picture issues impacting supply side economics.
  • Research and write on policy developments, geopolitics, investment climate and ESG, among others.
  • Be a key part of daily metallurgical coal publication production.
  • Maintain strong contact base with sources and client relationships.
  • Engage in business development, assisting account managers in sales process through pipeline maintenance and sales support.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in commodity space as reporter/researcher or financial reporter/market analyst.
  • Strong quantitative skills advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, effective team player required.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and within team.
  • Sense of humour beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business/Finance or Politics viewed favorably.
