Open Education & Copyright Specialist

The Open Education & Copyright Specialist plays a pivotal role in promoting open education and equitable knowledge sharing at Flinders University. This position requires strong advocacy, engagement, and collaboration with the academic community to drive awareness and adoption of open education practices.

This specialist will provide expert advice on open licensing and copyright, ensuring compliance and contributing to a culture of open scholarship. A values-driven approach, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential for success in this role.

To excel as the Open Education & Copyright Specialist, you will bring relevant experience or a combination of education and training, along with a strong passion for open education and copyright. You will have a solid understanding of Australian copyright legislation or be willing to learn and adapt to new developments in the field.

As a clear communicator who enjoys building relationships and engaging with academic staff and students, you will be well-equipped to deliver training, create resources, and contribute to collaborative projects. Your excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to apply project methodology and manage deadlines, will enable you to lead programs and outreach efforts effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on open licensing and copyright to ensure compliance and promote a culture of open scholarship.
  • Develop, design, and deliver training programs, educative resources, and professional activities, including workshops and communities of practice.
  • Collaborate with the academic community to drive awareness and adoption of open education practices.
