Job Opportunity

This is a permanent full-time position that commences in Term 4. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out internal cleaning duties, including the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other items of general cleaning while performing external cleaning duties.

The role includes completing vacation cleaning duties, such as stripping and sealing of vinyl floors, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets and other duties as required in the Fundamentals of Cleaning Guidelines.

The successful applicant will also open and lock the school, set the security alarm system, liaise with the Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning matters, and conduct monthly cleaning inspections.

In addition, the applicant will manage hazardous substances in accordance with occupational safety and health legislation, maintain records, report faults, maintenance, incidents and issues to the Manager Corporate Services, and ensure school facilities are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Department and occupational safety and health standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Internal cleaning duties: carpets, hard floors, toilets, furniture, windows, dusting, rubbish removal
  • External cleaning duties: verandas, covered areas, drinking troughs, window cleaning, cobwebs, rubbish removal
  • Vacation cleaning duties: vinyl floors, window cleaning, carpet shampooing
  • Opening and locking the school, setting the security alarm system
  • Liaising with Manager Corporate Services on cleaning matters
  • Conducting monthly cleaning inspections
  • Managing hazardous substances, maintaining records, reporting faults and incidents
