Shift Manager Role Overview

The Shift Manager oversees the afternoon shift operations to ensure production targets are met. This role promotes a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

  • Leadership & Team Development:
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production standards throughout each stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive improvement initiatives encouraging team-based problem-solving and analyzing production data to enhance performance and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain a strong commitment to OH&S, GMP, and HACCP standards promoting a safe work environment and enforcing proper incident management practices.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Build effective relationships with stakeholders across manufacturing, quality, and maintenance to ensure alignment of objectives and timely troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations ensuring all targets are met.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a dedicated team to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Drive improvement initiatives using data-driven insights to enhance performance and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to OH&S, GMP, and HACCP standards ensuring a safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years' leadership experience in manufacturing (FMCG/food industry preferred).
  • Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and GMP.
  • Proficient problem-solving and analytical capabilities driven by data and solutions.
  • Exceptional communicator who motivates teams and brings energy to the floor.
  • Exposure to SAP and high-speed packaging equipment is beneficial.
  • Qualifications in Business, Engineering, Food Technology or similar are highly regarded.
